As the estate agent rattled out more of the same, well-rehearsed in her lies, Mona’s eyes wandered through the open window and into the darkness beyond. A chorus of whispers welcomed her home.
The agent made her play.
“The history of this property is interesting – it isn’t for everyone.” She looked deep into her. “It’s the perfect place to make use of your important gift, Mona.”
It seemed the agent had a gift too. Perhaps stalking, perhaps something else? Mona had always been better at figuring out the dead.
